A weighted pencil.
ARK’s adjustable weighted pencilis an effective way to add additional sensory input to the hand during handwriting tasks. The extra weight provides increased sensory information and proprioceptive feedback to the hand, which can help increase focus, normalize writing speed, increase hand strength and dexterity, and/or decrease grip strength. The pencil weights also function as a fidget hand, as by twisting you can add or remove weight as desired. Highly recommended for people with sensory integration problems and/or poor fine motor control.
Each set comes with: 1 threaded base, 3 stainless steel weights that screw into the base and a pencil.
Customize the weight to your taste/needs: use all 3 at once for the heaviest weight, or remove all but 1 for a lighter weight feel.
Best used with a pencil without eraser (each set comes with 1 pencil).
