Through the sense of touch, the child can train the recognition and spelling of letters. The matching of the graphemes with the drawing allows to “write” the words and recognize if they are longer, shorter,… A game that beyond encouraging the learning of reading and writing from a very young age (from 3 years old), encourages tactile sensitivity and stimulates phonological awareness.

Headu games for learning to read and write

The Montessori Writing Lab is inspired by the three-period method: it comes with three house-shaped boards, 72 letter tiles, 18 puzzles, small boards and a wipe-off marker to build words and write them. And My first words is a set of 12 self-correcting animal puzzles, with sticker eyes, for reading and writing first words from 3 to 6.

Vocabulary: the home, similarities and opposites

In My home – Montessori there are 30 cut-out objects to place in the right spot across six rooms of the house. Similar! asks children to group items by what they share (insects, fruit, food…), and Opposites asks them to match each item with its opposite.
