What it includes
- 4 coloured swatters
- 90 double-sided card flies with numbers and sums.
- 2 number dice, 1 operation die, and 1 spinner.
- An Activity guide. Spanish-language box.
How to Play
Spread the flies face up on the table. Roll the dice (or spin the spinner), work out the answer and everyone looks for the fly with it: the first to swat it keeps it. There are more ways to play: solve the sum on a fly, match number and sum, or take on solo challenges.
What is it used for
It builds fluency in addition and subtraction to 10 and calculation speed, and makes children wait their turn and hold back the urge to swat too early, which helps with ADHD. In learning support it is used for dyscalculia, with a game format that lowers maths anxiety. For more movement there is Math Marks the Spot ; for carrying and borrowing, Learn to add and subtract with carried ones.
More maths games
The rest are in calculation and mathematical language and in logic and math games .
Learning by touching: from the pincer grasp to early maths
Its tweezer and tool sets work on fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, the basis of pencil grip, while children sort and move pieces. And the wooden counting sets, the Numberblocks balance scale and the calculator cash register bring early maths down to the concrete: counting, grouping, weighing and comparing before moving to paper.Language and sensory play too
The alphabet cookie jar supports letter recognition and vocabulary, a good ally in reading and writing games; and the glow-in-the-dark Playfoam adds a tactile sensory stimulation experience for moulding, creating and calming down. Why buy Learning Resources at Logopedicum?
