A tracheostomy filtering system with heat-moisture exchanger (HME).
Active filters for use with the Stoma Stud attachment. Its benefits are very outstanding as it: restores normal airway resistance, increases oxygenation of blood, reduces shortness of breath and mucus production, minimizes crusting around the stoma and trachea, increased lung protection and less chest infections, good warmth and humidity inside the trachea, excellent filtration, less coughing, etc. Use 2-3 filters every 24 hours. Initially after introduction to the system during the first few days the number of filters may be higher (4-5 filters every 24 hours) this will settle down after the initial period of approximately 3 to 5 days.
