Stim Care is a portable Neuromuscular Electrostimulation (NMES) device for the therapeutic administration of biphasic and polarized electrical currents (TENS, FES, High Force, Russa, Lipolysis, Galvanic, Microgalvanic and MENS).
Neuromuscular electrostimulation is a therapeutic resource that consists of applying an electric current through electrodes attached to the skin, with the aim of stimulating one or more muscles. Therapeutic currents have different purposes and forms of action, and allow to achieve objectives such as pain relief, sensory and/or muscular stimulation, among others, to facilitate functional recovery.
Stim Care has 28 pre-programmed neuromuscular electrostimulation protocols or programs, and there is the possibility of saving individual customizable protocols. The Instruction Manual of the equipment describes the whole process of installation, assembly, operation and technical characteristics, in addition to considering the TENS, FES, High Force, Russa, Lipolysis, MENS, Galvanic and Microgalvanic currents (waveforms, indications, contraindications), electrode placement, etc.
Stim Care is indicated for use by speech therapists and other health professionals (physiotherapists, dentists, etc.) as a therapeutic tool, both in healthy people and in people with reduced mobility and/or muscle strength.
Electrostimulation can be applied in clinical speech therapy practice as a therapeutic resource in the treatment of swallowing, voice, orofacial motor and oral praxis disorders, with the aim of improving motor function, muscle strength and range of motion.
