A portable lectro-stimulation device with TENS and FES
The Cefar Primo PRO TENS-FES is our next generation of portable TENS devices, building on the established technology base of the Primo Pro with added features to combine TENS and FES treatments in a single unit.
For use by therapists and patients, the Cefar TENS combines TENS with FES to relieve pain and rehabilitate muscles both in a rehabilitation center and at home. Patients can begin treatment with the device in the rehabilitation center under the supervision of specialized therapists, before continuing it at home. Easy and simple to use, patients can feel confident to follow the treatment themselves as their therapist can easily set the parameters and monitor progress.
For therapists, this means faster recovery and shorter patient stays 1, less need for resources and painkillers 2, so patients can benefit from reduced pain, increased mobility and greater independence. Overall, Cefar TENS is more than a pain relief device.

Device Characteristics

The Cefar TENS stimulator has 2 independent channels that can be managed separately. Users can select the same program on both channels, or 2 different ones to use simultaneously, allowing a combination of FES and TENS in one treatment. This means that patients can rehabilitate the affected area while reducing the associated pain, resulting in a more comfortable and effective treatment.
- Program mode
The device allows users to create up to 5 customized programs and select specific parameters. This allows therapists the possibility to prescribe an initial treatment that the patient can follow, while there is still the possibility to make modifications in the future.
- Electrodes
For best results when using Cefar TENS, we recommend the use of Chattanooga electrodes. Available in 2 sizes, our electrodes provide excellent conductivity ensuring a comfortable and effective treatment.
- Compliance
Therapists can easily follow the patient’s progress when performing treatment at home, monitoring the hours of use since the device was reinstated, along with the hours of use of the device.

- Acupuncture mode
When connected to acupuncture needles, Cefar TENS can be used to perform electroacupuncture (EA) treatments. EA has been shown to be particularly effective in pain relief,12 providing a beneficial option for patients in reducing their discomfort.
