The tongue balloon has two parts: the bulb and the stem. To measure the resistance of the tongue elevation, the blue balloon is placed in the patient’s mouth just behind the alveolar ridge. The SLP is responsible for holding the stem of the lingual balloon in the patient’s mouth.

Air Bulb Devices must be used with the PRO-FONO PLL by attaching them to the device. Male air bulb device connector to 120 cm flexible plastic tubing female connector. They are for individual use and should be sanitized before use and after each use.
The PRO-FONO PLL is a portable device that measures the pressure exerted by the upper and lower lips on an air bulb, or the pressure exerted by the dorsum or tip of the tongue on this air bulb placed on the roof of the mouth.
