Create an AccountThe TalkTools blowing elements kit (Horn kit) allows training of essential oral-motor skills necessary in OPT (Oral Placement Therapy). Developed by Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson, this therapy addresses deficits in costal-abdominal coordination as a prerequisite for improving breathing and velopharyngeal function for specific speech work. It can also be used to manage, reduce, or even eliminate drooling.
The elements of this kit are organized according to a hierarchy for gradual learning. Lip closure is taught first , then diaphragmatic control, controlled oral airflow management, application to speech articulation, etc.
Kit includes one unit of each item (colors may vary), a replacement horn nº 12 and the original TalkTools instruction booklet. Items are NOT dishwasher safe.
Caution: Adult supervision is required to use these therapy elements and the Horn Kit program.

Such a system consisting of a mouthpiece connected to the central element (designed to be hung on the bed and, with a compact handle, to be held correctly by hand for proper use) allows the measurement of intermediate inspiratory flows (100-200-300-400-500 and 600 ml/sec.). Suitable for pediatrics and patients with low inspiratory capacity. It also has an O2 connection port for supplemental oxygen.
Very useful resource for training the respiratory muscles, especially in patients who have undergone thoracic surgery, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema, COPD, etc.
