Description
A fun and very complete kit
A kit of straws, a basic OPT (Oral Placement Therapy) for both children and adults. Straw Therapy promotes jaw-lip-tongue dissociation through twelve developmental stages. It can be used to teach tongue retraction, sorting, controlled tongue movements and lip rounding, among other oral motor skills. This kit includes a proposal of sequenced activities, fun for patients and appreciated by speech-language pathologists working at the orofacial myofunctional level for their effectiveness and affordability.
Several models of attractive colored straws make this element a very interesting resource for patients with suction dysbilities (initiating suction, maintaining liquid flow, etc.). Its length and varied shapes, with loops, allow to work the oral musculature together with the sipping of liquids with more resistance.
This kit is ideal for implementing Straw Hierarchy, a mainstay of oral placement therapy. Includes one of each straw from the TalkTools Straw Hierarchy (colors may vary), a #1 replacement straw, two lip blocks, and two lip blocks.
Includes 15 straws of different models, 3 blocks or lip stops and the original TalkTools instruction booklet. Not dishwasher safe.
