First silicone spoons
Self-feeding is an essential milestone in human development. Children who learn to feed themselves learn to master autonomy, fine motor skills, sensory regulation, and food exploration skills. Having appropriate utensils and tools can help with the transition from caregiver-directed feeding to self-feeding.
The Itsy™ collection from Talk Tools is an inclusive feeding set designed and tested by teams of speech and occupational therapists and their patients. Ideal material for promoting self-feeding, including infants who may have challenges with the transition to self-feeding (i.e. sensory processing, neurological, physical or developmental differences).
The TalkTools® Itsy™ spoon set includes two soft, textured spoons to facilitate baby’s self-feeding. Ergonomically designed, they allow them to practice their fine motor and grasping skills, facilitating easy and safe feeding.
Textured spoon: The grooved, textured bowl provides additional sensory information and holds food in place. Its slope safely channels food into the mouth. Symmetrical bulb-shaped handle proportionally designed to promote independent grasping and holding.
Smooth Spoon: Soft, shallow bowl limits portions and encourages safe self-feeding. Curved bulb-shaped handle promotes grip control and rotation of the arm and wrist.
Product specifications: Free of BPA, BPS, PVC, phthalates and other potentially harmful toxins. Dishwasher and microwave safe. Helps prevent food odors or flavors from sticking. Durable for extended use. Works best between 32° and 212° F (0° and 100° C). Made entirely of LFGB platinum-grade silicone, which exceeds the FDA standard.
