Progressive jaw work!
Progressive jaw closure tubes are particularly effective for people with cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and for adults with limited jaw mobility after radiation treatments or orthognathic surgeries. This set of tools(six graduated tubes) is designed to teach jaw mobilization to clients who are unable to close/open the jaw when assisted with feeding, speech or voice. Used in a hierarchy, each of the tubes teaches voluntary jaw movement and lip rounding, which are necessary for straw drinking and speech development, among others.
