Description
What can I do?
This material is made up of 30 cards and each one presents a problem with unexpected or unpleasant situations. Some of these will be familiar and others will present new challenges and range from minor, routine-disrupting difficulties such as missing a bus, to major problems with elements of danger, such as finding a frying pan on fire in the kitchen. Reflecting on these difficulties will help children make responsible decisions and develop independent thinking.
Stay safe; understand the differences between minor difficulties and emergencies; realize that some problems are practical and that some include an element of social behavior; know when there is danger or potential danger; understand that sometimes you must ask for help, sometimes take the initiative and walk away; find a balance between acting quickly and considering all aspects of a situation; and recognize that there will be consequences of intervening and think about what might happen next.
The game is designed to encourage children to think logically, use their reasoning skills and make quick, rational decisions. This includes downloadable resources that allow teachers to print each card as needed for individual students.
